L.A. County has turned to a mysterious weather-modification technology called cloud-seeding in hope of getting more rain to fall -- as the drought continues despite the predicted deluge from El Niño. Tiny silver iodide particles are being fired into rainclouds above the San Gabriel Mountains, increasing precipitation by up to 15 percent during storms.
