Firefighters in Ottawa quickly contained a house fire that was triggered by a dog chewing on a heated glove powered by lithium-ion battery. Security camera footage released by Ottawa Fire Services shows the dog laying on a couch and chewing on the glove before it begins emitting smoke, and then flames. The department said the homeowner spotted the fire via their security system and called it in. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and rescue the dog from inside the residence within 10 min
