I had an interesting recent encounter with a juvenile Snow Goose while looking for Short Eared Owls in the “Farmersburg Mine” area of Vigo and Sullivan County. The bird was in the road and walking along as if it was drunk. I approached the bird, and it was absolutely unbothered by me or my car. I shot the video and made contact with a Indiana Department of Natural Resource friend. That resulted in taking the bird to be evaluated by an avian specialist with the IDNR.
