These are Phacus applanatus, tiny, leaf-shaped unicellular algae, and the oxygen they produce through photosynthesis is literally bubbling up and wrecking my composition. 😂 . Phacus are some of my favorite organisms to watch under the microscope. There are nearly 200 described species, many with strikingly beautiful shapes.
