This Short-tailed Shrew is an uncommon patient for us here at the Center! Brought in after a dog dug them up out of the snow, this little guy has been recovering with us until the cold weather breaks. Unlike some other small mammals, these little guys stay awake all winter long, and they eat a lot in order to stay warm and survive the cold temperatures.
