Gilbert Town offices close for MLK Day; trash service continues, festival planned, and Water Tower lighting in King's honor.

According to Gilbert Fire & Rescue Chief Aaron Barton, several witnesses called 911 to report heavy smoke coming from the roof of a Panda Express restaurant off of the Loop 202 Santan and Williams Field Road.

Marcus Gilbert, who immortalised Jilly Cooper ’s leading man Rupert Campbell-Black in Riders, has died at the age of 67. The actor, who also featured in shows including Doctor Who and Murder, She Wrote, died on Sunday after living with throat cancer for three years.

Anyone who was at Gilbert's Hale Theatre on Jan. 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 should watch for symptoms of measles through the end of this month.
