A father's lawsuit against the online gaming platform Roblox will remain in the public eye after a judge denied the company's bid for private arbitration.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, announced on Thursday that he has filed a lawsuit against the Roblox Corporation.

Australia’s eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant warned last month that Roblox had become a popular target for pedophiles seeking to groom children. Predators often use “Robux”, the in-game currency, as a “trade”, or a way to bribe minors into sending explicit images.

Texas has filed a sweeping lawsuit against Roblox, accusing the company of deceiving parents and endangering children.

Police say the suspect met the teen on the online game Roblox and they exchanged “sexually explicit” messages.
