Snapchat rankled some of its most loyal (and heavy) users when it announced last week it will begin charging for storage plans for Memories, its version of a digital archive for Snaps and stories.

Before the rise of Instagram and TikTok, Snapchat was the real deal. Since its introduction in 2016, its handy feature called Memories has allowed users to keep their photos and videos within the app.
