The Springfield Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced a comprehensive plan to tackle plowing city streets during the weekend snowstorm.

Snow this weekend will accumulate and remain on the ground due to extreme cold, with a wind chill as low as 17 degrees below zero Sunday.

Springfield Mayor Sarno and city officials are providing an update on the upcoming nor'easter snow storm, which is expected to bring up to a foot of snow and extremely cold temperatures, and are urging residents and businesses to be prepared.

If Springfield Public Schools decides to cancel for Monday after this weekend's winter storm, an official said they hope to make that call Sunday.
