NEW DELHI — Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie will be joined by Indianized Muppet characters in a venture funded by the U.S. Agency for Intl. Development (USAID) for preschoolers in rural India.
If the Disney+ special on Feb. 4 succeeds, it could spur a new season of the series that premiered 50 years ago.
