A cold case that has haunted Garfield Heights residents for more than six decades has moved one step closer to being solved.

The cold case murder of Tammy Fickey, a woman who was found dead behind an apartment building in Tampa, Florida, more than 20 years ago, is officially closed, Us Weekly has learned. Fickey, 31, was killed inside a Tampa apartment on March 12,

Franklinton, La (WVUE) - When Donna Arceneaux’s body was found at her home in Franklinton in 2017, she had a gunshot wound to the chest. Her case was initially investigated as an unclassified death, but an autopsy later determined it was a homicide. Seven years later, on Dec. 23, authorities announced they had arrested a local man for the killing.

NICEVILLE, Fla. -- An Okaloosa County cold case is closed after more than half a century. The body of 19-year-old college student Debra Espey was found in a wooded area in Niceville on March 12, 1973. Investigators said she was beaten to death, then buried in a shallow grave.

State Attorney Amira Fox created the Cold Case Homicide Unit upon taking office in January 2019. In Lee County, the four cases range from as long ago as 1999 and more recently, 2016.

Serial killer Richard Cottingham, known as the 'Torso Killer,' has confessed to the 1965 murder of 18-year-old nursing student Alys Eberhardt in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Cottingham, 79, provided previously unreleased details of the crime, bringing closure to one of the town's oldest unsolved cases.
