The Powerball jackpot has been won for the first time in 2026 as a lucky player in North Carolina brought home the $209 million grand prize for the drawing held on Wednesday, Jan. 21. The Powerball jackpot was last won on Dec. 25, when a player in Arkansas won the $1.817 billion jackpot.

While it wasn't the Powerball jackpot, one very lucky person still earned lots of money after Saturday's drawing.

A winning ticket from Saturday’s Powerball drawing was sold in Beaufort. Players have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prizes.
